My daughter just broke one of the wooden posts on my bed, and I only have two kinds of glue, Elmers School Glue or waterproof Embellishment / Fabric glue. Which one would work best?

I have very nice real wood floors, but the Christmas tree made it all sticky where I had it. I tried using Murphy’s Oil soap in that area, but it didn’t work with the sap. Any suggestions for something that will clean it but not harm the wood?

We are not military, but my husband will be working on Post. I need all the info I can get on the area. We have a daughter in middle school, we are planning on renting (we will only be in the area for 18 months) we have a few dogs, I need some civilization, and first hand knowledge of the area. Yes, we know the winter’s can be miserable.
